23rd September 2019 (Monday) – Nidderdale Show

Taking place every September, the annual Nidderdale Show is not to be missed.  Classes for horses, dogs, sheep, cattle, pigs and small animals.  There are also lots of trade stands and shopping, plus brass bands and a ‘main event’ which is different each year.

27th – 28th September 2019 –  UCI Road World Championships Yorkshire 2019.

The world’s best cyclists will be coming through Nidderdale and Pateley Bridge twice during the nine day race.

On the Friday 27th September 2019, the ‘Men’s Under 23 Road Race’ (Doncaster to Harrogate) cyclists will be coming from the direction of Ripon to Pateley Bridge, up gruelling ‘Greenhow Hill’ before heading back to Harrogate to finish the race.

On Saturday 28th September 2019 the ‘Women Elite Road Race’ (Bradford to Harrogate) will be coming from the direction of Menwith Hill towards Summerbridge, to Pateley Bridge, Lofthouse, up the fearsome ‘Trapping Hill’ towards Masham before heading back to Harrogate to finish the race.

Pateley Bridge has a number of cafes, pubs, restaurants and takeaways within easy walking distance of Riverside Caravan Park. The Nidderdale website has a full list of local food establishments.

    Discover the local history of Pateley Bridge and Nidderdale, located in the old Workhouse. The museum has a number of themed rooms and lots of fascinating exhibits, documenting the rural history of the local area from pre-history to the present day. There is a souvenir shop open during museum hours.

  • Stump Cross Caverns

     Stump Cross Caverns

    A natural limestone cave system running under Nidderdale and Wharfedale, it is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and contains interesting stalagmite formations. Prehistoric reindeer, wolverine and bison remains have been found. The show caves have a restaurant and souvenir shop.
